Affordable Care Act Changes Healthcare Landscape

Healthcare is transforming.

Many times "transform" is misused when referencing a change that is not truly dramatic; however for healthcare, given its fundamental change from both a financing and a delivery perspective, it may be an understatement.

For employer sponsored plans, the simple and painful truth is that even before trend healthcare is going to cost more in 2014 than today for the same level of benefits.  Due to increased fees, possible penalties based on employee eligibility and affordability, excise taxes, and exchanges, employers need to reassess the plans they offer and the funding levels they are willing to contribute - now.

The first question employers need to answer is "What is their Health Care Reform Number"?

The HCR Number is the exact dollar amount the Affordable Care Act will cost their organization in 2014 under their existing benefit programs.  Without this number employers cannot determine their exposure and cost drivers, or what changes are most appropriate and their impact.  A company which does not know its HCR number may have capital that is needed to meet its business objectives evaporate due to unanticipated health plan costs.

The time for strategic thinking is now.  Join us for a complementary seminar on March 7, where experts will discuss the impacts of reform and how to prepare for the changes ahead.
